.: Everyday Warrior Training Room

Everyday Warrior Fitness is a lifestyle that bears discussion. My Reach High goal is to be fit to do anything, anytime, anywhere with Endurance, Strength, and Stamina! I am building this training room around a discussion board on which I intend to record my efforts. I hope to be joined by others with like mind for rich discussion.

I am kicking off my everyday warrior training log in relatively bad shape. I’ve been broken for the last year. I developed a chronic Achilles injury. For the last year I have been unable to run or hike without exacerbating this frustrating injury. I got injections, I did physical therapy, I got orthotics, I took months off of leg work at a time to no avail. The pain would go away but as soon as I tried to get on the road again it would be back as bad as ever. I finally sought a miracle with a blessing, and lots of fasting and prayer. I got a doc to give me one more injection and put me in a cast for a couple of weeks and now I’ve been taking it easy for about a month and a half since the cast; trying to come back nice and slow. I am happy to report that I am pain free and confident that if I mind my p’s and q’s I will get back to 100% this time. This morning I ran 1 mile, did 80 push-ups, 25 pull-ups, and 50 elevated sit-ups. It’s not much but it is a start.
So happy you're on the mend! I did a 2 min. warm-up on the Versaclimber. This is quickly becoming my favorite machine in the gym. It provides an extremely intense workout that exercises all major muscle groups. I did a lot of stretching Insanity style. The stretching routine in Beachbody’s Insanity is the best I have ever come across. Then, I did 10 more min. on the Versaclimber. This was pretty tough. Finally, I ran 1.25 miles on the treadmill. This run is a big deal for me because it is my longest since January. My plan is to add.25 miles to each workout for a few weeks and see if I can get up to 3 miles without any pain in my Achilles. I pray I can.
